Tsunoshima
A spot with breathtaking scenery that stretches straight across the emerald green ocean
There is a bridge that ties Tsunoshima, an island in northwest Yamaguchi Prefecture, and the mainland. Its length is 1780 m, one of the longest in Japan, and the area is a popular location for making car commercials. The plateau is a perfect spot for taking pictures; you can look out over Tsunoshima lighthouse--the symbol of the island--as well as the white beach and emerald green ocean!

Kawatana Onsen Area
Relax and enjoy the spa district with a history dating back over 800 years
"Kawatana Onsen" is a hot spring said to be mentioned in Muromachi Era archives. Nowadays, there are facilities where you can just drop by to enjoy hot springs, so we recommend spa-hopping, too. Be sure to check out attractions other than hot spring, such as "Kawara-soba," crispy and fragrant local specialty noodles stir-fried on roof tile, and "Kawatana-no-mori," an edifice created by architect Kengo Sumi that stands out in the middle of the district!
